Doncaster East Superloop
Lee Pitcher’s suggested ‘superloop’ route.
I met with South Yorkshire Mayor Oliver Coppard and his team to discuss my proposal for the Doncaster East Superloop. A brand-new looped bus route designed to improve connectivity between our local villages, employment sites, schools and health services. The route would reduce journey times, link into existing services, and help deliver a more reliable, joined-up public transport network for our communities.
I was pleased to receive a positive response from the Mayor, and three clear next steps have now been agreed:
Mayor Coppard has committed to attending a public drop-in in Doncaster East, hosted by my office, to explain the bus franchising process to residents.
My team will continue to share recurring bus-related concerns from local people with SYMCA, ensuring your voices are heard as planning moves forward.
SYMCA has agreed to revisit the Superloop proposal when the formal network redesign process begins, as part of the bus franchising programme from 2027.
